London, UK (5 January 2026): Global strategic consulting firm Alpha1Strategy on January 5 launched the Global Overview 2026, the global calendar of the most important political and economic milestone dates for the year.
The Global Overview marks events and dates in the fourth year until the United Nations’ Global Goals Agenda 2030, during the G20 Presidency of the USA during its 250th Anniversary Year and in efforts to globalise the Overview Effect this decade, Alpha1Strategy said.
“The Global Overview 2026, as a calendar of the most important dates for the forthcoming year, is a critical resource for global policymakers, businesspeople, NGOs, academics and the media,” said Talal Malik, Alpha1Strategy Founder.
“It transpires that the start of 2026 has already revealed a confluence between history and the present, in that the most underestimated and underreported yet potentially most globally-relevant date for the year is actually the 80th Anniversary of the League of Nations, in its last meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, on April 18, 1946, transferring its mission to the United Nations and disbanding itself; so 80 years after the disbandment of the League of Nations and 80 sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, juxtapose this with the fact that in the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the USA on July 4, 1776, and the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 – September 11 attacks, the start of the two-decade War on Terror and US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the three Western country members of the United Nations Security Council on January 3, 2026 chose to launch air strikes on UN member countries in South America and the Middle East; with the US launching large scale air strikes on Venezuela, and capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and transporting them to the US, on the 36th Anniversary of the capture and transport by the US of de facto head of state General Manuel Noriega of Panama in 1989, with stated aims by the US to now run the oil and mineral commodities-rich country during this transition phase; and the UK and France, in the 10th year Anniversary of the “Brexit” EU referendum of June 23, 2016, which resulted in the UK leaving the EU, jointly coordinating the bombing of a suspected underground arms cache previously used by Daesh/Fahish (also referred to as ‘ISIS’) group in Syria,” said Talal Malik, Alpha1Strategy Founder. “Fast forward to the rest of the year, the US is once again central to the Global Overview with the US celebrating its 250th Anniversary via a bipartisan initiative, America 250, and the current US Government having Task Force 250; the hosting with Canada and Mexico of the FIFA World Cup between June 11 and July 19, 2026; followed by the 10th Year Anniversary of the first election of US President Donald J. Trump on November 8, 2016; to then the end of the year, when on December 14-15, 2026, the 2026 G20 Summit 2026 Summit in its 21st meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20), is set to be held at the Trump National Doral Miami, a property of the host, U.S. President Donald J. Trump, in Doral, Florida, USA.”
“And in the year of the 81st UNGA, in the Middle East, the current Gaza war in the Holy Land Conflict which commenced on October 7, 2023, is currently in a ceasefire state between the Tel Aviv-government and the current administration of the Gaza Strip, which formally came into effect since October 10, 2025, while in Europe, the 2022 war in between Ukraine and Russia now enters its fourth year; also in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia reaches the 10th Anniversary of the launch of its socio-economic diversification plan, Vision 2030, on April 25, 2016, which has had a global socio-economic impact; and 2026 aims to bring forth more of the Metropolis initiative, in globally-significant roles and conferences for cities – yesterday, today and tomorrow – marking 201 years since London became the world’s largest city in 1825, overtaking Beijing; in turn, replaced a 101 years later by New York becoming the world’s largest city in 1925; both of its respective mayors of these two Alpha Cities in the Western world, respectively Sadiq Khan and Zohran Mamdani, have been sworn into office on the Holy Quran, demonstrating the importance of international dialogue and understanding across countries, cultures and civilisations.”
